Now the question I have is that I have requested for a divorce as my husband has refused to divorce me. I have given many reasons to them like him not providing for me and abusing me. I just wanted to ask. If I do not get the right to divorce and my request if rejected, what do I do then? Am I obligated to go back to my husband or can I live my life without him until he eventually decides to divorce me?

If he refuses to divorce you, go to a Marja’s office or representative and ask them to issue what is called a Marja’s divorce. It will take some time (it’s not a fast process), but once they verify that he is not providing for you and abusing you, then they can issue you the divorce. So this is what I recommend.

In the meantime, if he is not providing for you, and he is abusing you and you want to stay away from him to protect yourself from abuse, then you can do so and you don’t have to go back to him. You would have to go back to him if he stops abusing you and starts providing for you.
