See in this Hadith https://thaqalayn.net/chapter/8/1/454 It says Imam Ali AS under compulsion gave Bayah to Abu Bakr but we know that even under Taqiyyah our Imams AS made it clear who the enemies and usurpers were even if they gave of a neutral stance in their action. I discussed this with a friend online and we see that in the Arabic it says ‘ عَلَى ‘ When pledging allegiance to someone. As this says in Arabic grammar: https://www.almaany.com/en/dict/ar-en/%D8%A8%D8%A7%D9%8A%D8%B9/ So we concluded that the Arabic in the Hadith would mean and actually correctly define as ‘Imam Ali AS recognised Abu Bakr as leader’ and not ‘pledge allegiance’ because for example I can recognise the Family of Saud are the leaders of Saudi but I don’t pledge my allegiance to them and we believe the Arabic concurs our points. Is what we are saying is right and that the Hadith is making a mistake in translation to English?
