I am getting to know a potential spouse through my home. He mentioned regularly going out to eat with other Muslim females and males and having conversations. Previously, he would speak and sit close to the females with the intention of assessing them as a potential spouse. Now, that he is getting to know me he says this has changed but he still goes out with the group of them to hang out. We discussed the idea of mahrams.. Can you please clarify if women gathered together become mahram to one another amongst others?
For instance is it permissible for 2 or more female friends to be alone with other male friends as they (the women) become mahram for eachother?
The potential spouse states that this is the case and him being amongst males and females for the sake of “hanging out” and sharing jokes and stories is ok.
